Prior to founding Silverton Partners, Bill Wood began his venture career in 1984 as a founding partner of Austin Ventures, which has since become one of the largest venture capital firms in the country. Bill is a past recipient of both the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur-of-the-Year Award and the Austin Technology Pillar Award, recognizing his lifetime contribution to the development of the Austin technology community. He was also the inaugural inductee into the Austin Technology Hall of Fame. Bill received his BA from Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Founder and CEO, Hive9
Darin Hicks is the founder and CEO of Hive9. Darin has experience leading aggressive growth plans focused on multi-channel marketing, customer lifetime value, and complex software and services sales. Prior to Hive9, Darin was CEO of Bulldog Solutions, where the original ideas for Hive9 were developed, and VP/general manager of Acxiom, where he grew the technology business unit into the company’s first global industry and brought new solutions to market in the insurance vertical.
Darin was also founder and CEO of Software Leadership Services, a management consulting company providing domain and operational expertise to early-stage software and services companies. Prior to that, he served at Trilogy, which grew from a start-up to over $250 million in revenue over nine years. There, Darin held a number of key leadership positions in the U.S. and Europe, including managing their primary industry verticals and leading their professional services organization from $28 million to $130 million in three years. Darin - a native of Durand, Michigan - graduated from Stanford University in 1992 with a bachelor’s of science degree in industrial engineering.
